The MSC (Microscopy Society of Canada – La société de microscopie du Canada) was founded in 1972 as a non-profit organisation. Among other activities, the Society has been organising annual meetings every year since 1974, including joint meetings with the Microscopy Society of America every 4 to 6 years since 1978. MSC is a scientific society formed by and for microscopists in Canada. It encompasses all branches of microscopy, both basic and applied, in the physical, material, geological, biological, and biomedical sciences, including light and electron microscopy techniques. The Society strives to provide a platform for scientists at all levels (trainees from the undergraduate to postdoctoral level, technical personnel, and professors) to discuss their research, remain informed of technological developments and improve their microscopy skills.
