APS 21-ID-F (LS-CATS)

Sector 21 uses canted undulators to provide two independent sources for four ID end stations: 21-ID-D, 21-ID-E, 21-ID-F, and 21-ID-G. All four stations can be used simultaneously and independently All four stations can be used simultaneously and independently. The 21-ID-D station supports macromolecular crystallography, SAD and MAD phasing over a wide energy range from 6.5 keV to 20 keV. All LS-CAT experimental stations are equipped with MD-2 diffractometers with state-of-the-art features such as on-axis sample viewing with precision zoom, automatic sample alignment, omega/kappa/phi motions, and a tuned piezoelectric fast shutter. The APS 21-ID-F (LS-CATS) beamline will be shutting down in 2023 for one year as part of a beamline upgrade project. Listed below are the recommended alternative beamlines. Contact us if you need help in getting ready to conduct your research at one of these alternative beamlines. We can supply you with the tools and instruments you need.

Beamline Sample Preparation Kits are available in 3 aperture size assortments based on your crystal sizes and include:

• Assemblies of 100 Crystal Mounts, on 18 mm pins, available in the following assortment:
  • 20 x Dual-Thickness MicroLoops ™ LD  (5 each of 10, 20, 30 and 50 μm aperture sizes)
  • 40 x Dual-Thickness MicroMount ™ (10 each of 75, 100, 150 and 200 μm aperture sizes)
  • 20 x Dual-Thickness MicroLoops ™  (5 each of 300, 400, 500 and 600 μm aperture sizes)
  • 20 x MicroMeshes ™  (5 each of 10, 25, 50 and 25L μm aperture sizes)
• Installed in 100 B5-R reusable bases or 100 regular bases
• Packaged and stored in 5 MiTeGen base holders
