SPINE Puck Transfer Tool for transfer of SPINE sample holders
This SPINE Puck Transfer Tool is designed to facilitate the seamless loading and unloading of SPINE pucks (SC3 Baskets) containing vials and sample holders. It is intended to sit in a liquid nitrogen bowl such as foam dewars and is designed to elevate the vials/sample holders from their position in the puck for easy removal and transfer to or from another holder. Without this tool, the magnetic ring on the vial keeps the samples stuck inside the puck rendering the unloading operation very difficult to achieve.
Product Information
This SPINE Puck Transfer Tool is a highly specialized mechanical accessory designed to facilitate the seamless loading and unloading of SPINE pucks (SC3 Baskets) containing vials and sample holders. Engineered to sit securely within a liquid nitrogen bath or foam dewar, this precision instrument actively elevates the vials and sample holders from their deep-seated positions within the puck body for immediate, accessible retrieval. By mechanically overcoming the strong magnetic attraction of the vial base rings—which otherwise securely lock samples inside the puck during transport—this tool dramatically simplifies sample transfer, mitigating the risk of handling errors or thermal damage to critical macromolecular crystals during beamline preparation.
